Our Current Project

Summer 2010: We have begun our implementation of HFHI's new "A Brush With Kindness" program.

The ABWK program serves low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. The program is an approach to providing affordable housing and assisting communities as well as families.

For our first project, we assisted in re-roofing a house, fixing a leaking chimney, and patching interior drywall.

We had all levels of volunteers - licensed contractors, home repair-knowledgeable people, and eager-to-learn "newbies".

We are roughly 80% of the way towards completion, and starting to look for follow-on projects.

If you are interested in getting involved, and helping others in need and contributing to your community, send an email to: info@capeannhabitat.org

Special thanks to Steve Poliskey (S. Poliskey and Sons Roofing, 85 Eastern Ave., Gloucester, MA, 1-978-281-2442) who provided a roofing crew for 2.5 days FREE OF CHARGE to help us out, and did a great job!
